Overview

The fifth edition of the EU Citizens' Gathering is organised by the EU Delegation to the United Kingdom in partnership with The 3Million and the University of Birmingham. The event brings together EU embassies, EU and UK politicians and civil servants, experts, academics and civil society to discuss pertinent issues, develop joint actions and strengthen EU citizens' networks in the UK.

Travel & Accommodation Policy

A limited number of travel and accommodation grants are available for participants travelling from outside the West Midlands area. We reserve the final right to approve or decline any request.

  • Travel and accommodation grants are available only for participants with journeys of over 2 hours each way (4 or more hours total travel).
  • Journeys requiring an overnight stay will be arranged at our discretion.
  • Your preferred times are a guide, not a guarantee. We will book travel that is reasonably priced and ensures you arrive on time.
  • We will make no changes unless there are exceptional circumstances. If your ticket has already been booked, changes WILL NOT be possible.
  • Participants who request travel or accommodation support and do not attend will be flagged and may not be invited to future events.

30 June 2026  ·  7:00pm Evening Reception at Centrala Space Centrala Space, Digbeth, Birmingham  ·  Free Join us the evening before the Gathering for an informal reception at Centrala Space in Digbeth. A friendly opportunity to connect with fellow delegates ahead of the main event. A bar and light refreshments will be available.
2 July 2026  ·  10:00 to 11:30 Academic Conference University of Birmingham, Edgbaston campus Hosted by the Institute of European Law at Birmingham Law School. Features a keynote by the EU Ambassador to the UK alongside leading academics and policymakers discussing the EU–UK relationship ten years on from the referendum.
