About the Gathering

The fifth EU Citizens' Gathering takes place on 1 July 2026 at the University of Birmingham, organised by the EU Delegation to the United Kingdom in partnership with the3million and Birmingham University.

The gathering celebrates EU citizens in the UK and the civil society organisations who support them, recognising their contribution through work, community and culture. It brings together EU citizens, community organisations, UK and EU politicians, academics and decision makers to foster dialogue, build networks and strengthen the connections that matter.

Evening Reception & Exhibition — Centrala Space
Centrala Space, Heath Mill Lane, Digbeth, Birmingham
Join us the evening before the Gathering for an informal reception at Centrala Space in Digbeth. A friendly opportunity to connect and network ahead of the main event. The venue will also host an exhibition exploring irregular migration in Europe. A bar and light refreshments will be available. Further details, including information about performances, will be announced soon.

An academic conference on European law and policy hosted by the Institute of European Law at Birmingham Law School. Opening panel: The UK and the EU — the current and the future relationship, featuring a keynote by the EU Ambassador to the UK, alongside Anand Menon, Catherine Barnard, and Jun Du.
